Leah’s musical interest began at the age of five when she began playing harp and piano. After taking the high school proficiency at the age of fifteen, she enrolled in the Santa Barbara City College Music Program where she was granted the Guido Bart Music Scholarship for exellence in harp, and placement into the Applied Music program for two consecutive years during which she traveled bi-weekly to Los Angeles to study with Session Harpist/Professor Marcia Dickstein. Leah was President of the American Harp Society Santa Barbara Chapter 2004-2006 and helped implement the Braille Institute’s Joy of Harps program. Some of the venues for which she has performed on the harp are Nordstrom’s Santa Barbara, Montecito Country Club, Santa Barbara Yacht Club, University Club, Emilio’s Ristorante, and Bricks Café. Her ensemble credits include Santa Maria Symphony, Lompoc Pops Orchestra, UCSB/SBCC Symphonies, Mariachi Intragal, and other various small groups for private events.
"Leah’s music was the classic touch that made many occasions truly lasting memories for us. To name a few, she played at the weddings of my wife Andrea and me, our daughter, and two of our closest friends. It is because of Leah’s magical talent that I hire her, and strongly suggest that you do the same. You will have no regret." -Dana Newquist
